STUDENT POSITIONS - GRADUATE STUDENTS for the 2024-25 CYCLE

Research training opportunities are available for qualified graduate students with an interest in forensic, investigative and/or molecular genetics. Interested applicants should contact Dr. Novroski via e-mail (nicole.novroski@utoronto.ca) with the subject line “Prospective Graduate Student”, and include a copy of their most current CV along with a short description of their research interest(s). Prospective students can also explore the requirements for Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Department of Anthropology here!

Undergraduate students seeking research opportunities should contact Dr. Novroski via e-mail (nicole.novroski@utoronto.ca) with the subject line “Prospective Undergraduate Student”, and include what type of opportunity/training they are looking for (i.e., research course for credit, summer research experience, work study, etc).

There is currently no capacity for additional undergraduate students in the Novroski lab through 2025.

Study Participants

The Novroski Forensic Biology Research Laboratory in the UTM Forensic Science Program is beginning the development of new methods for DNA sample collection, processing, and analysis.  We are looking for 1000 participants to donate buccal and/or finger prick blood samples that we can use to assess the efficacy of new DNA collection, processing, and analysis methods.

Participation is open to individuals over 18 years of age, willing to spend approximately 15 minutes being briefed on the study and donating of samples.  There is no compensation or any direct benefit(s) to the participant(s).
